Digital innovation, empowering a sustainable future - After the successful holding of Emerson's Boundless Automation Summit, in order to further deepen customers' understanding of Emerson's new products and applications, and help customers optimize their operational performance in production, reliability, safety, sustainable development, and workforce. Recently, Emerson, in collaboration with Star Controls, held the Emerson Chemical Park National Roadshow Jiaxing Station at the Pullman Jiaxing Pinghu Hotel, aiming to discuss the cutting-edge trends of automation technology with customers and demonstrate its pivotal role in promoting enterprise safety, efficiency, and sustainable development.
Among all the keynote speeches, the topic of valve digitization garnered the highest attention from the audience. Engineer Lou from Star Controls delivered a keynote speech titled "New Products | Intelligent Management of Valves and Application Sharing in the Chemical Industry", in which he introduced the challenges faced by the industry, the purpose of intelligence, and corresponding solutions, and provided specific cases and benefit analysis.
He indicated that control valves account for approximately 3% of corporate investment, yet their related malfunctions reach around 30%. This upside-down phenomenon is caused by various factors. Firstly, during daily operation and maintenance, ongoing "problems" are not effectively identified, missing the optimal time window for handling. Secondly, during STO, control valves that truly require offline maintenance are often overlooked, leading to issues persisting into the next operational cycle. Based on the operating principle of control valves, Fisher's digital solution combines high-performance hardware and the diagnostic module-rich ValveLink software to provide effective assistance for efficient operation, maintenance, and decision-making in factories.
In addition, representatives from enterprises in the Jiaxing Industrial Park shared their exploration experience in valve intelligence. "Currently, the maintenance and inspection of control valves rely heavily on the experience of instrument personnel, which is highly arbitrary and unable to effectively identify potential faults and obtain early warning information. There are issues of under-maintenance and over-maintenance in the maintenance and repair of control valves, and the maintenance decisions lack scientific support." By implementing the "operation + downtime" diagnostic strategy, the level of instrument maintenance and repair management has been improved, the awareness of professional technicians in control valve maintenance has been strengthened, the accuracy of control valve maintenance has been enhanced, and maintenance costs have been saved, helping users gradually shift from reactive maintenance to predictive maintenance.
The product display area was also bustling with excitement. The exhibits brought by Star Controls this time included: Fisher GX Control Valve + DVC6200PD, Fisher EZ Control Valve + the new generation of DVC7K Intelligent Valve Positioner, Fisher FIELDVUE 4400 Intelligent Valve Position Transmitter, Fisher™ ACE95 Steam Tank Gas Seal Valve, BETTIS Electric Actuator XTE3000, and BETTIS Pneumatic Actuator G series.
Among them, the built-in junction box, convenient local setting interface, integrated analog and discrete valve position transmission functions, and backward compatible installation method of the new product DVC7K have aroused strong interest from customers. In addition, customers can experience the setting steps and various functions of DVC7K and 4400 on site through practical operation, and understand the various diagnostic functions of the valve through DEMO demonstrations.
Through this roadshow, customers have gained a comprehensive and in-depth understanding of Emerson's solutions, products, and applications in the chemical industry. Star Controls will continue to collaborate with Emerson to provide customers with satisfactory industrial solutions and services, helping enterprises achieve safe, efficient, and sustainable development, and jointly exploring the "boundless" future of automation!
